Troubleshooting

Fix common WidgetStack issues

Most issues during testing are related to installation differences, launcher behavior, or outdated builds. This page lists the most common problems and how to resolve them.

Install issues
Style imports
Launcher behavior

Play Store install fails

  • If you previously installed a direct APK version of WidgetStack, Google Play may refuse to install the testing build.
  • This happens because Play Store builds use a different signing key.
  • Uninstall the old APK version first, then install the Play Store testing version.

WidgetStack widgets do not appear in the widget picker

  • After installing the app, widgets should appear in the Android widget picker automatically.
  • If they do not appear, try restarting your launcher or restarting the device.
  • Some launchers cache widget lists and may require a refresh.

A style code does not import

  • Make sure the style code or link is still valid.
  • Public style codes only work with compatible widgets.
  • If the code is valid but still fails, update WidgetStack to the newest version.

A style link does not open the app

  • Style links such as ondasupply.com/s/... are designed to open WidgetStack directly.
  • If the link opens a browser instead, make sure WidgetStack is installed and updated.
  • You may need to open the link again after installation.

A widget does not update or refresh

  • Widgets depend on Android's widget refresh system and launcher behavior.
  • If something appears stuck, try removing and re-adding the widget to the home screen.
  • Restarting the device can also clear launcher caching issues.
